The SBRC works with visually impaired persons including the newly blinded persons to receive proper assessment and total rehabilitation with necessary skills for self-reliance and total integration.
The service train(rehabilitate) newly blinded learners who drop out from regular learning institutions because of loss of sight, and/or those who are referred from hospitals and other places related to education, for educational rehabilitation.
We recommend further treatment, in cases of learners who need treatment and also refer learners to relevant institutions to continue with their education, after their rehabilitation.
The services we provide entails:
- Teaching Braille reading and writing skills,
- Orientation and Mobility of Visually Impaired Persons
- Computer Laboratory – for teaching Adapted Information Communication Technology
- Guidance and Counseling – for helping the students cope and come out of their problems
